The Biden administration is giving $6 billion to Ukraine as a farewell

The United States presidential election has been held. And the Democrats lost power. Therefore, the current president Joe Biden has to leave next January. However, before leaving, he is giving another 6 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine. This information is known from the report of the news agency Reuters.

The White House plans to provide billions of dollars more in security aid to Ukraine before President Biden leaves office in January, a US administration source said. The decision may be implemented before the newly elected President Donald Trump is sworn in on January 20.

“The (Biden) administration plans to move forward to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position,” said the senior Biden administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity. Donald Trump has criticized the Biden administration's aid to Ukraine from the start.

Therefore, Ukraine is worried about Donald Trump's return to power. That concern has been exacerbated by the fact that, in addition to the presidency, Trump's Republican Party has a majority in the Senate and the House of Representatives, both chambers of the US Congress.

Regarding the new $6 billion in aid to Ukraine, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said the Biden administration will send $6 billion in aid to Kiev before Trump is sworn in on January 20. On Thursday, Sabrina Singh said, '4 billion dollars will be given to Ukraine under the Presidential Drawdown Authority. But with this money, the country has to buy weapons from the United States.'

The Pentagon spokesman also said, “Out of this, the country has another 2 billion dollars under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.” At this time, he was asked whether the United States has enough stockpiles of weapons to be sent to Ukraine before Trump takes office. In response, Sabrina Singh said, “Washington is confident of fulfilling its promises to Kiev.”

Sabrina Singh said, 'We are constantly replenishing our (arms) shelves. We are committed to providing Ukraine with what it needs and that includes $4 billion in aid.' He also said that apart from the United States, Ukraine has many supporters around the world. “It's not just the United States supporting Ukraine,” he said. But our country will continue this support.'
