BNP standing committee member and former minister Mirza Abbas is being taken to Singapore for better treatment. An air ambulance carrying him took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Singapore at 12:20 PM on Sunday.
Mirza Abbas’ personal assistant Mizanur Rahman Sohail confirmed the matter and told the media that the air ambulance may take approximately four hours to reach Singapore. There he will be admitted to Singapore General Hospital. His wife Afroza Abbas, eldest son Mirza Yasir Abbas and his personal physician Dr. Zafar.
Before this, this veteran politician was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital last Wednesday. Mizanur Rahman said that he suddenly lost consciousness while drinking water after Iftar that day. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but as his physical condition did not improve as expected, the family decided to take him abroad on the advice of doctors. Mirza Abbas’s family and party leaders have sought prayers from the countrymen for his speedy recovery.
