Tension is increasing between India and Pakistan after the attack on tourists in Pahalgam. The army of the neighboring country on Friday started firing with small arms at some places near the Line of Control (LOC). The Indian Army also responded effectively. There is no news of any casualty in the firing from either side. To search for terrorists, the Indian Army has launched a massive search operation in the entire Kashmir Valley. In this operation by ground forces, a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed while the houses of two local suspects were demolished with explosives. Till the time of writing the news, several search operations were going on under the leadership of the Army in Jammu and Kashmir.
The banned organization, an affiliate of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, is involved in this deadly attack, which was carried out amid an atmosphere of peace in the valley in recent years. It is not yet known how many terrorists were involved in the Pahalgam attack. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the ground situation and spoke to military and civilian officials, including top officials of the Army’s Northern Command.
Meanwhile on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called up the Chief Ministers of all states and asked them to ensure that no Pakistani remains in India beyond the deadline to leave the country. The Union Home Ministry said that the government has canceled 14 categories of visas given to Pakistani citizens, including business, conference, visitor and pilgrim visas. In a message sent to all state governments, the Home Ministry said the order will not apply to long-term visas (LTV) and diplomatic and official visas issued to Pakistani nationals. According to the Home Ministry order, those holding SAARC visas should leave India by April 26 and those holding visa on arrival, business, film, journalist, transit, conference, mountaineering, student, visitor, group tourist and pilgrim category visas will have to leave India by April 27. Apart from this, Indian citizens living in Pakistan have been advised to return home as soon as possible.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Badamibagh Cantonment to inquire about the people injured in the terror attack. Apart from this, the Congress leader also met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Both of them gave him detailed information about the incident.
On the other hand, the Indian Navy demonstrated its strength and preparedness by testing a surface-to-air missile in the Arabian Sea. Earlier, the Indian Air Force conducted a combat exercise on Thursday and conducted a routine sortie the next day.
Sources say, ‘This attack has been carried out with the intention of bringing the Kashmir issue back to the center of discussion on the international platform. He said that in recent times a very peaceful and safe environment had developed in the Kashmir Valley. Due to this the influx of tourists also increased. According to the government of the Union Territory, lakhs of tourists, including foreign nationals, have visited here in recent years. This trend had increased further, but the people of the country and tourism lovers have been frightened by the terrorist attack.
Sources say that this attack on tourists is an attempt to again attract the attention of international forces towards Kashmir.
