Ten rules to restore order in Indian cricket

Cricket board BCCI has issued 10-point instructions to restore discipline in the Indian cricket team. Indian cricketers will be punished if they do not comply.

The board has some motives behind issuing the new rules. They want the cricketers to become more focused on the game. Along with that, the board wants concentration, discipline and positive attitude in the team. Their aim is to make cricketers more professional. A 10-point code of conduct was created in a meeting between captain Rohit Sharma, coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and BCCI president Roger Binny.

National team players have to follow these rules. If the contracted stars do not comply, various punishments including suspension from IPL, domestic cricket will be given.

The 10 guidelines issued by the BCCI are-

1) Playing in domestic cricket is mandatory from now. Every cricketer has to play domestic cricket from now on. Indian cricketers have to play domestic cricket to get a chance in the national team and stay on an annual contract.

2) No Indian cricketer can shoot ads during any tour or series from now on. The board has taken this decision to keep the focus of the team and for the cricketers to be responsible towards the team.

3) The board has issued rules for taking wives or girlfriends on any trip. Cricketers cannot be accompanied by their wives or girlfriends for more than 14 days in any tour of 45 days.

4) No cricketer can return home early in the middle of the series. Barring a personal emergency, cricketers must remain with the team for the entire series.

5) A cricketer will henceforth not be able to travel with a personal manager or any of his staff while on Indian team duty. If one goes, he must stay apart.
