There is a decline in the stock market today i.e. on 6th January. Sensex is trading at the level of 85,200 with a fall of more than 200 points. Nifty is also down by about 50 points, it is trading at 26,200. There is selling in auto and energy shares.

Global market boom
- In Asian markets, Korea’s Kospi is trading up 0.08% at 4,461 and Japan’s Nikkei index is trading up 0.70% at 52,191.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index traded up 1.66% at 26,784 and China’s Shanghai Composite index was up 1.10% at 4,067.
- On January 5, America’s Dow Jones closed at 48,977, up 1.23%. At the same time, there was a decline of 0.67% in Nasdaq Composite and a rise of 0.64% in S&P 500.
FIIs sold shares worth ₹3,268 crore on January 5
- On January 5, FIIs had bought shares worth Rs 115 crore. Whereas DII had bought shares worth Rs 1,479 crore.
- FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹34,349.62 crore in December 2025. During this period, DIIs controlling the market bought shares worth ₹ 79,619.91 crore.
- FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹17,500.31 crore in the month of November. Whereas, DIIs made purchases worth ₹77,083.78 crore. That is, the market is supported by domestic investors.
There was a decline in the market yesterday Earlier yesterday i.e. on January 5, there was a decline in the stock market. The Sensex fell 322 points and closed at 85,439. Nifty also fell by 78 points, it closed at the level of 26,250.
