The company issued a statement on Saturday saying that this news is going to tarnish its image. Reliance has clarified that it has not received any oil cargo from Russia in the last three weeks and does not expect delivery of any Russian crude oil in January.

What was in the Bloomberg report? This whole matter started after a report by Bloomberg, titled ‘Ships with Russian oil signal Reliance Plant as Destination’. In this report, citing shipping data, it was claimed that ships loaded with Russian crude oil are moving towards the west coast of India. However, the report also said that a Reliance spokesperson denied that the cargo was purchased by the company. It also said there are no committed shipments of Russian crude for delivery in January.
