The Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala in Punjab has started manufacturing rail coaches for Bangladesh Railways. This is a significant achievement in RCF’s coach manufacturing. This construction is part of an export order of 200 coaches, under which RCF will manufacture 20 coaches this year.

These 20 coaches include 8 air conditioned (AC) and 12 non-air conditioned coaches. All these coaches have been specially designed to meet the operational and passenger requirements of Bangladesh Railways.

Inauguration of production of first coach shell
The production of the first coach shell was formally inaugurated by Manohar Lal (SSE/Shell), the senior most employee of Shell Assembly Shop. Ravi Kumar (PCME), Sanjay Aggarwal (PCMM), Baldev Raj (CWE/Shell) and other senior officers and employees were present on the occasion.
RCF had earlier also successfully manufactured and supplied 120 high quality rail coaches to Bangladesh Railways in 2016-17. These coaches were made according to the special requirements of Bangladesh Railways. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, skilled workforce and commitment to quality, RCF is today significantly contributing to India’s growing presence in the global rail market.
