The National Citizens Party-NCP has condemned the death of Khatib Raz Uddin of Akhladul Jame Mosque in Hyderabad area of Gazipur City in Kara custody.
According to a statement signed by the party's joint member secretary (office) Sifin Sifat on Monday (May 7th), a complaint against Imam Rais Uddin on April 23, Mob Violence was attacked by Mob Violence and cut the hair on his head.
The victim was later handed over to the police and the court ordered him to be imprisoned. He died at 7am in custody. Such death is in no way acceptable while in state custody. Which is the harassment of basic human rights, obstacles to getting justice and violation of human dignity. The National Citizens Party-NCP strongly condemned the incident and protested.
It said that more concern was noticed that the law enforcers could not bring any of the accused in the murder case filed by his wife even after the death of Imam Rais Uddin. The NCP believes that no matter how serious a person is accused of crime, it is the basic responsibility of the state to ensure his security and life's rights.
The state has failed to fulfill this duty. In such an event, the culture of irresponsibility and the tendency of Mob Violence is extremely worrying. On the basis of any complaint, it is not desirable to harm the lives and goods of a citizen through Mob Violence.
The statement also said that the human rights violation of the police's amateur behavior in the incident is extremely destructive. The NCP is drawing the attention of the National Committee on the issue of the reform of the police system to ensure civil rights and public safety in Bangladesh after fascism.
The statement also demanded that the transparent and neutral investigation of the death of Imam Rice Uddin be brought under the law and brought them under the law quickly.
