Meta will invest hundreds of billions of dollars to lead artificial intelligence (AI) technology. In a Facebook post on Monday (July 7th), Matter CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that Meta's first AI Supercluster 'Prometias' would be launched in 2021.

The company is taking this initiative to create a strong computing network to create AI models. This type of network is called supercluster.

Zuckerberg said, “The industry will have the highest computing capacity in the Meta Super Intelligence Labs. We will also have the most computing resources per researcher. I am looking forward to working with the best researchers. '

Zuckerberg said Meta was producing several multiggavat clusters in addition to the first supercluster named Prometias. Of these, a supercluster called 'Hyperion' will be able to use 5 GHz in a few years.

Meta announced last June that they had formed a new company 'Meta Super Intelligence Labs'. The world -class AI researchers and engineers have joined. In recent weeks, Matter's recruitment and investment with AI has increased. They recently invested $ 1 billion in 'Scale AI'.

“We are focusing on the formation of the most talented and skilled team in the industry to build super intelligence,” Zuckerberg said in the Facebook post. Meta is hiring OpenAI and Apple talented for this super intelligence team.

It should be noted that the 'Lama 1' AI model made in April did not receive the expected response. Zuckerberg was disappointed with it and reconstructs Meta's strategy to support the OpenAI and Google in the AI sector.
