BNP Joint Secretary General Humayun Kabir said that the international community is eagerly waiting for the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections. He said this to reporters after the meeting of 11 ambassadors with BNP Chairman Tariq Rahman on Monday.
Humayun Kabir said that the election was discussed in the meeting with the ambassadors, they are very excited about the election. They are also satisfied with the election environment. As the people of Bangladesh are thinking about the election, so are they. They are also waiting. They hope that Bangladesh will go towards a new horizon.
These meetings were held at the BNP chairman’s office in Gulshan in the capital today, Monday. Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh had a meeting with the BNP chairman first this morning. Then in the afternoon the newly appointed US Ambassador Brent Christensen and in the evening the European Union (EU) Ambassador Michael Miller led by 9 other ambassadors met with Tariq Rahman.
BNP Chairman along with Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Joint Secretary General Humayun Kabir, BNP Chairman’s Advisor Mahdi Amin, BNP Chairman’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli were present in these meetings.
Humayun Kabir, the party’s joint secretary general, spoke to reporters about the BNP chairman’s meeting with the ambassadors in the evening. Talking about the discussion of the meeting, he said, “Tareek Rahman is now the most important political leader of Bangladesh according to the international community. 11 ambassadors met him in today’s schedule. These meetings were held in a very cordial atmosphere.’
Humayun Kabir said that the discussion was very fruitful and said, ‘What kind of development plan is he (Tareek Rahman) taking if the BNP government is formed in the future, his development ideas and 31 points were discussed. There has been a discussion about what is in his development plan.’
Humayun Kabir said, “After August 5, Bangladesh is such a country, no one can give instructions to this country.” The people of Bangladesh do not follow the guidance of other countries. And this Bangladesh will never come back. Chairman (Tareek Rahman) discussed how to develop bilateral relations. Trade and investment were discussed. The Rohingya issue was discussed. How to solve this problem in the future.’
