Bharat Ratna To Manmohan Singh: Sikh organization 'Namdhari Sangat Seva Samiti' on Tuesday (October 22, 2024) has urged the Government of India to honor former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with Bharat Ratna. During a press conference at the Constitution Club in Delhi, members of Namdhari Sangat Seva Samiti said that they had written several letters to the government in this regard.
Highlighting Manmohan Singh's achievements, members of the religious organization said the former prime minister was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1987 for his services to the nation and the 'Order of King Abdul Aziz' from Saudi Arabia in 2010 and In 2014, he was awarded the 'Order of the Paulownia Flowers' from Japan.
Manmohan Singh revived the economy
The committee claimed that the real credit for reviving India's economy goes to Manmohan Singh. The Manmohan Singh government has achieved an important achievement by successfully finalizing the nuclear treaty between India and America. Namdhari Sangat Seva Samiti spokesperson Lakhwinder Singh urged the Central Government to honor Manmohan Singh with Bharat Ratna.
Development started after Manmohan Singh's decision
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not only a strong leader of Congress but is also called the father of economic liberalization and economic reforms in India. It was Manmohan Singh, under whose leadership the rule of LPG i.e. Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization was introduced. When there was 15 days of money left in the country, India started developing after this rule was brought. After this decision many foreign companies invested in India.
