The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has written to all public prosecutors of the country to send a list of political harassment cases. Deputy Solicitor Sana Md. The list was sought in a letter signed by Mahroof Hossain. The list has been asked to be sent by December 17.
Harassment cases filed against political activists and others during the period from January 6, 2009 to August 5, 2024, especially before and after the National Assembly elections held in 2014, 2018 and 2024, the letter said. Which in many cases is known as 'Gaybi case'. Due to the lack of correct and complete information regarding these cases, it is not possible to take legal remedial measures. Therefore, the information of these cases in the prescribed table is important.
The letter asked to be especially careful and responsible in preparing the list of cases and to exercise utmost caution. After receiving the list of cases, the ministry will scrutinize thoroughly.
