Salahuddin Ahmed said, 'Our job is to maintain anti-fascist national unity. Let us transform the national unity against fascism into mass unity. He said, 'We want to give an inclusive political statement to all the political parties who were involved in the anti-fascist movement. We must ensure that no one sows any seeds of disunity within us.'

In response to the question whether there was any consultation about the declaration, Salauddin Ahmed said, 'The declaration of the July coup was discussed. Leaders of all political parties have given their advice. We questioned whether there was really any need for a declaration after five and a half months. If it remains then what is its political significance, historical significance and legal significance has to be determined. Care must be taken to ensure that there is no rift in the anti-fascist unity that has developed among us based on this declaration. If a political document becomes a historical document, then we must respect that document.'
