BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is going abroad on January 7 (Tuesday). Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Khaleda Zia will leave Dhaka for London on the night of January 7.
Members of the party's standing committee went to Feroza, her residence in Gulshan, to meet BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia tonight.
Mirza Fakhrul spoke to the journalists after the meeting.
They entered Feroza under the leadership of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at 9 pm.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters, 'It was a courtesy visit before the BNP Chairperson went abroad for advanced treatment. There was no political talk here. We wish him well.'
When asked whether the BNP Chairperson gave any special instructions in the meeting, Fakhrul said, 'He gave the instructions to work together, work for the people, work for democracy.'
Went to Feroza at night, along with BNP Secretary General Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, member of the party standing committee, barrister Zamir Uddin Sarkar, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Ameer Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salauddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram.
According to party sources, Khaleda Zia will leave Dhaka for London on January 7 night. From there, he is scheduled to go to the United States for treatment. BNP Chairperson can perform Umrah on his way back home. On this occasion, he met with the members of the standing committee of the party. The source said that Khaleda Zia will give various directions in the meeting.
