Millions of Gaza are displaced again. Israeli forces have entered the city of Rafah, the last refuge of Gaza, and started occupying the newly announced 'Security Zone'. In the last 24 hours, at least five people were killed in the Israeli attack. Of these, 20 people were killed in the morning attack in Sheikhjaiya suburb of Gaza City. British news agency Reuters reported.
At least 20 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in a Israeli airstrike at a school in Gaza City on Thursday. The school was being used as a shelter for displaced families. The Israeli army has claimed that they have launched an attack on terrorists.
The father of a child who escaped from Rafah told Reuters that Rafah is now a ruin. Whatever was standing, they are now being crushed.
New displacement
The Gaza residents fear that the real purpose of Israel is to degrade the northern and southern areas of Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the soldiers are occupying an area called Morag Ax, which was an abandoned Israeli settlement between Rafah and Khan Younis.
Gaza residents say Israel is seeking to occupy the last agricultural land and water infrastructure in Gaza. Since last March, Israel has issued a blockade for the entry of all products for 2 million residents of Gaza, which has been forcing international agencies to call humanitarian catastrophe.
Attack at school, casualties casualties
Local health authorities said three missiles were hit in the school building in the attack on Darul Arkam School in Gaza City. The Israeli army has claimed that they launched an attack on a command center, which Hamas fighters planned to attack Israeli troops and civilians.
Hundreds of residents are fleeing their houses under the direction of Israel in North Gaza. Umm Aid Barda said, “I want to die.” Let us kill us, the release of this life. We can't live, we are living like a dead.
Rafah resident Basim said, “Many have remained where they will not go.” We are afraid that they may be killed or arrested.
Hostage crisis and the future of war
The goal of Israel is to destroy Hamas, but Hamas has regained control again because of not trying to form an alternative administration. Hamas still has 5 hostages, including both dead and alive. Hamas says they will not release the hostages unless there is a permanent ceasefire.
Last October, Hamas attacks were killed in Israel and more than 20 people were held hostage. In response, more than 3,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza so far in Israel's retaliation.
