Before or after independence Dhaka Wanderers were a big power team. But gradually their own power decreased. For the first time in the professional era, they had to be embarrassed at the beginning of the Premier League. Could not stand up to the traditional Mohammedans. 6 goals had to be destroyed. Mohammedan scored the fourth goal in the 80th minute. Boateng placed Diabat's pass inside the box to knock the Wanderers out.
Diabate scored the last goal for the team in the 89th minute. Muzaffarov's pass into the box did not take long for Aguan to slot the ball into the net past the goalkeeper's right side.
Substitute Sourav Dewan scored the team's sixth goal with a brilliant placing shot in added time to seal the Wanderers' heavy loss.

In the other match of the day, Munshiganj's Bir Shrestha Flight Lieut. Brothers Union beat Police FC 2-1 at Matiur Rahman Stadium.
Brothers got their first goal in the 23rd minute. Gambia forward Maddy Sissé, from Mustafa's pass, cut the ball into the box between two defenders and fired high past the Aguan goalkeeper.
In the 44th minute Police FC equalized the match. Arifur Rahman's corner was hit by Manik Hossain Molla's head with the second post in the net.
Brothers Union doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. Gambian Zakaria Darbo's finish took the lead for the orange jersey holders. In the end, the Gopibagh team won the first match by holding on to Zakaria's goal.
