At least six people were injured in a clash between two groups over social disputes in Baria-Vadaliapara area of ​​Kushtia Sadar Upazila. At least 20 houses were vandalized and looted.

The clash started around 8pm on Saturday (February 28). Later, police, army and RAB members brought the situation under control around 10 pm.

At that time, the members of law and order forces recovered some domestic sharp weapons from there.

According to police and local sources, there was a dispute between Abdul Hannan group of former members of the oil union and the people of Saiful, a former member of the same union (UP member). As a result of this, tension arose between the two groups in Baria Bhadadiapara area on Saturday night. At one point, two groups clashed in which at least six people from both sides were injured. More than 20 houses were attacked and vandalized and looted. The injured in the clash were rescued and admitted to the 250-bed Kushtia General Hospital.

Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kabir Hossain Matubbar said that there was a heated situation in the area for quite some time due to the social conflict between the president of the oil union BNP, Bariar Hannan member and Saiful member of Vadalia Para. As a result of this clash and chase, counter-chase and houses were vandalized and looted.
