Adviser to BNP Chairperson Zainul Abdin Farooq commented that the conspiracy will start only if the elections are delayed. He urged the interim government to announce a roadmap for elections.
He said these things in front of the National Press Club on Sunday (November 24) at a stand program organized by the Nationalist New Party.
Zainul Abdin Farooq said, 'Arrange elections as soon as possible. You (interim government) should reform. But do not make such reforms, which delay the elections.'
Calling for the announcement of the election roadmap, he said, 'The people of the country can fulfill their expectations and vote for their preferred candidate, the election roadmap should be announced. If you delay, the conspiracy will start.'
BNP Chairperson's adviser said, 'Now everyone is making demands to the government. But no demand should be made which creates disturbance in the minds of the people. The government has given the right to speak about people's demands after August 5. More than two thousand students have given us the right to speak with their blood. So now is not the time to speak against the government.'
For the interim government, the former opposition chief whip said, 'We are not against you, we want to cooperate with you. I spent the night kneeling in water, sleeping in the graveyard under the oppression of the fascist Awami League government. There too the police arrested and tortured us. So action should be taken against the friends of this government who are still in Bangladesh.'
Farooq said, 'Sheikh Hasina, who claimed this country as her father's, is not far away, in India. He is plotting again. His friends are still in Bangladesh. So he should be brought to the country and punished. What is your (Dr. Yunus) fear? The people are with you.'
BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, President of 'Desh Bachao Manhoop Bachao' movement KM Rakibul Islam Ripon, Organizing Secretary of Democratic Party Mir Amir Hossain Amu, General Secretary of the organization Raju Ahmed and others also spoke in the program under the chairmanship of Humayun Kabir Bepari, President of the organizing organization.
