The new commission will go ahead with the fair elections quickly, BNP hopes

BNP has welcomed the assumption of responsibility of the new Election Commission. The party also expressed hope that the new commission will work to meet the expectations of the people.

BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said this after a meeting led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir with Turkish Ambassador Ramis Sen in Gulshan in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, 'The new election commission will be successful in its work after taking oath. They will proceed as soon as possible for a fair election. That is the expectation in the coming days.'

Expressing Turkey's interest in solving the Rohingya problem, Amir Khosru said, 'The Rohingya issue has been discussed. As you may remember, the Turkish President's wife was the first foreigner to arrive in Dhaka within two weeks of the Rohingya refugee incident. No foreigner came before that. For that, Turkey has a commitment to solve the Rohingya problem.

He said, they still have a presence in Cox's Bazar with a hospital. We will all work internationally to solve this problem. If BNP forms the government, it will work together with all parties including Turkey to solve the Rohingya problem.

This senior leader of BNP said that they (Türkiye) will work on language and cultural issues in Dhaka University in the coming days. There is also a thought to make a cultural center of Bangladesh. There was a discussion on how to increase trade and relations. Everyone is going from Bangladesh to Turkey for treatment through discount packages. They want to encourage it more.

Amir Khosru also said that they have thoughts about taking Bangladesh-Türkiye relations to another level after the fall of the autocratic government. They will also work on various reforms including the Election Commission.

He also said, when will the election? When will the roadmap be announced? All domestic and foreign stakeholders are waiting for this. They have plans for Bangladesh in the coming days. They have investment issues. Parliament will be elected in a fair election. Who will be responsible and accountable to the people. In fact, everyone is waiting for the elected government to invest in the coming days.

Shama Obaid, organizing secretary of BNP, was also present in the meeting.
