The legality protocol for the interventions to be carried out in Bagnoli was signed. What was intended as a fundamental safeguard for the rebirth of the Bagnoli-Coroglio area, one of the most complex Sites of National Interest, was signed at the headquarters of the Prefecture of Naples (Government Palace).
The Protocol involved numerous subjects: the prefect of Naples Michele di Bari, the extraordinary commissioner Gaetano Manfredi (in charge of environmental reclamation and urban regeneration), Invitalia (National Agency for attracting investments and business development), the territorial directors of the Labor Inspectorate, INPS and Inail, the president of Acen (Neapolitan Building Builders’ Association) and the regional secretariats of Feneal Uil, Filca Cisl and Fillea Cgil.
«We had a wide participation of subjects _ says the prefect of Naples, Michele Di Bari _ having involved all those who participate in the redevelopment of the area». Tool, developed within the prefectural table that has long brought together institutions and social partners, which has the dual strategic objective of preventing any attempt at mafia infiltration in public procurement related to reclamation and regeneration interventions; concretely strengthen the protection of health and safety on construction sites, at a time when the area is preparing to welcome highly relevant interventions. Also in view of the 38th edition of the America’s Cup – Naples 2027, a world sailing event whose logistical and operational infrastructures will be concentrated in the former industrial area of Bagnoli and which has undoubtedly already had the effect of accelerating the reclamation and reconstruction interventions. «But the protocol for legality – specifies the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, who is also commissioner for Bagnoli – will continue to be effective and to guarantee the legality of operations even after the America’s Cup». Finally, the Pact evidently also wants to offer guarantees to the numerous committees that are currently opposing the works planned for the redevelopment of the site.
