A Hindu named Kamala Harris, not at work: American Hindu leader

Kamala Harris, the current Vice President of the United States and leader of the Democratic Party, is of Indian origin. He has spoken about his Hindu identity several times in the past. However, a Hindu leader in the United States has complained that although he is a Hindu in name, there is no proof of his actions. The leader named Shalav Kumar alleged that Kamala Harris and her policies are against the interests of India.

Indian media Hindustan Times reports that Shalav Kumar is the leader of Republican Hindu Coalition, an organization of Hindus in the United States. He said that despite the connection with the Kamala Hindu past and Indian heritage, his policies are against the interests of India.

In an interview to Indian news agency ANI, Shalav Kumar said that Harris supported 'independent Kashmir' against India's interests. At the time, Shalav Kumar also expressed concern about some members of Kamala Harris' election campaign team saying that they were pro-Pakistan. He said, 'Kamala Harris is Hindu in name only, but her activities and policies are anti-India. He wants independent Kashmir. There are five to seven pro-Pakistan people in his campaign team.'

Expressing concern over Harris' position, Shalav Kumar said, 'Pakistan is now forging an alliance with China and it could become a serious challenge for India and the US.' He warned that China could destabilize India by using Pakistan as a 'proxy'.

This leader of the Republican Hindu Coalition also said, 'We are expecting a free trade agreement between the two countries in relation to India and the United States. Trump and Prime Minister Modi have a friendship, so India will have a great time during the next four years of Trump's presidency.'

Shalav Kumar criticized Kamla's stance on Kashmir, saying that his overemphasis on the issue of 'so-called minorities' could strain diplomatic relations. He commented, 'Biden and Harris see Hindus as the majority and radical Islam as a minority, but the country ignores the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and Canada.'

He further said, 'Kamala Harris has some fundamental views on Kashmir and so India needs to be alert. They will raise the issue of the so-called minority, the so-called Muslim minority, every chance they get. Joe Biden will raise these issues more than ever every chance he gets and Kamala every chance he gets.'

Referring to Bangladesh, this Hindu leader said, 'Forget what is happening in Bangladesh. Forget what is happening against Hindus in Canada. For them, Hindus are the majority and radical Islamists are the minority…Trump's attitude towards Indian Hindus is very clear. That has been evident since attending the New Jersey rally on October 15, 2016.'
