After Kanpur, a conspiracy was hatched to overturn the train in Lucknow also. On Thursday, a branch of a tree kept on the track near Malihabad railway station got stuck in the Bareilly-Varanasi Express.
Due to this the axle counter of the train broke. The driver stopped the train and informed the authorities. When the railway team reached the spot and inspected it, they found wood and stones lying on the track. Police have started investigation.
A report has been lodged at Malihabad police station, alleging a conspiracy by the Railways. According to the report filed by Senior Section Engineer Ajay Kumar, wood got stuck in the engine of Bareilly-Varanasi Express near Mahilabad station.
Investigation of the incident site revealed that wood and stones had been dumped on the track. Freshly broken axle counter was also found lying there. This criminal conspiracy could have resulted in huge loss of life. The route remained affected for a long time due to the incident.
