Speaking at the 'NDTV World Summit' organized in the national capital, Mittal said that about two billion people in the world are still deprived of internet and in the Indian context too, there are areas… like deserts, forests, large stretches of coastline where neither Neither mobile connectivity nor fiber is possible.
“For those areas you need satellite communications, and I believe this is a huge source of new opportunities for us, for mobile operators or telecom operators,” Mittal said. With this, we can bring it together and connect those areas which are still left behind.'' He said that about five percent of India's population is deprived of internet connectivity.. Satellite is the only solution for this. Mittal said, “India provides very high quality 'signal' to 95 percent of its population, but there are still five percent of people in the country who do not get internet.” They live in 25 percent of the country's area. Therefore it is a very large area, which has a very low population. The only way to connect is via satellite.
