ED raids in MUDA case, case has also been registered against Karnataka Chief Minister

MUDA Case: ED conducted raids in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. In this case, a case has been registered against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his family members and others.

According to the information, ED raided MUDA office and some other places in Mysore. During this time, the central paramilitary force was also accompanied by the agency officials.

ED had filed enforcement case information report

Just a few weeks ago, ED had filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) to register a case against the CM and others. After which cognizance was taken of the FIR lodged by the Lokayukta. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is accused of irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites to his wife by MUDA.

Know what is the whole matter

In 1992, the urban development organization Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) took land from farmers to develop residential areas. Instead, under MUDA's incentive 50/50 scheme, land owners were given 50% of the site in the developed land or an alternative site.

MUDA is accused of allotting 14 sites in a posh area of Mysuru to Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi in 2022 in exchange for her 3.16 acres of land in Kasare village in Kasaba Hobli, Mysuru. The price of these sites was much higher than Parvati's land. However, Parvati did not have any legal rights on this 3.16 acres of land. This land was gifted to Parvati's brother Mallikarjuna in 2010. MUDA had developed Devanur Stage 3 layout without acquiring this land.

On September 27, Mysore-based Lokayukta police had registered an FIR against Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvathi, his wife's brother Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju and others.
