Sirajganj: The driver and helper of the pickup van were killed after being hit by a truck standing on the highway in Sirajganj's Kamarkhand.
The accident happened on Thursday morning (October 17) in the border area of ​​the upazila on the Bangabandhu Bridge West Link Highway.
The deceased are Ashraful (23) son of Muktar Hossain of Ghoraghat village in Rangpur district and Roni (22) son of Mohammad Ali.
Eyewitnesses said that when the tire of a truck carrying goods to North Bengal got punctured, the driver stopped at Shimant Bazar area and changed the wheel. At this time, a pickup van coming from behind hit the truck hard. The driver and helper of the pickup died on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Setu West Police Station. Anwarul Islam said that the driver and helper of the pickup van were killed after hitting the back of the truck in the border market area. On receiving information, the police recovered their bodies from there and sent them to Sirajganj Shaheed M Mansoor Ali Medical College Hospital morgue. The truck and pickup van were impounded but the truck driver and helper escaped.
