Egypt enhances investment cooperation with Belgium and Luxembourg in energy and infrastructure

Arab Finance: Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, participated in a dialogue session entitled “Strengthening economic relations between Egypt, Belgium and Luxembourg“Investment opportunities in vital sectors,” where investment prospects and opportunities in Egypt were discussed, within the framework of the minister’s current visit to the Belgian capital, Brussels.

Al-Khatib stressed the importance of trade and investment relations between Egypt and Belgium. Belgium ranks eighth on the list of European Union countries importing from Egypt and fifth on the list of countries exporting to Egypt, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries last year amounted to about 2.1 billion euros, and the volume of Belgian investments in Egypt amounted to about 1.4 billion dollars, Belgium ranks No. 5 among European countries investing in Egypt.

The minister pointed out the Egyptian government's commitment to providing a safe and stable investment climate that enables foreign investors to expand in the promising Egyptian market, pointing to the investment opportunities available in infrastructure projects that represent part of Egypt's Vision 2030.
