Case against 135 people including former city mayor of Khulna Khalek

A case has been filed against 135 people, including former mayor of Khulna City Corporation and president of Metropolitan Awami League Talukdar Abdul Khalek and former state minister Mannujan Sufian.

The case took place in the case of vandalism, arson and attack on BNP's ward number 7 office of Khalishpur police station in the city on August 27, 2022.

On Wednesday (August 21), the case was filed at the Khalishpur police station by Ilyas Sheikh, the joint convener of BNP ward number 7 of the city.

75 people have been named in the case. Notable among them are – Central Organizing Secretary of Awami League and former Member of Parliament of Khulna-3 Constituency SM Kamal Hossain, General Secretary of Khulna Metropolitan Awami League MDA Babul Rana, Sadar Thana President Advocate Saiful Islam.

Ashish Maitra, Officer-in-Charge (OC Investigation) of Khalishpur Police Station said, “75 people have been named and 50/60 others who are not known have been accused in the case.”
