Mangani Lal Mandal’s statement
RJD leader Mangni Lal Mandal said that there are parameters to review security, but the cut should not be to such an extent that it insults any leader. He said that the step taken by the government seems to be motivated by political vendetta. On the question of MLAs and MPs renouncing security, Mandal said that the party will consider the issue further and take a decision.
Recently the government had withdrawn Z+ security of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. After this, Rabri Devi also returned the remaining security personnel from her official residence. Tejashwi Yadav’s Y+ security, however, has been retained. RJD will take this whole matter to the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar And BJP is looking at it as political revenge. The party says that the public is the biggest security for his family.
This incident has sparked heated debate in political circles. The opposition is calling it an attack on democracy, while the government’s side is that security review is a regular process and the decision has been taken on the basis of threat assessment.
