Baba Siddique Shot Dead: Former state minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead on October 12. The two suspects caught in the murder of Baba Siddiqui told the police that they were ordered to kill Congress MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of Baba Siddiqui, if they were seen there during the murder. During initial interrogation, Dharamraj Kashyap and Gurmail Singh had told the police that they had been ordered to kill one of the two.
According to the report of Times of India, a police officer said that if Baba Siddiqui and Zeeshan were found together, the attackers would have targeted both of them. He says that this points towards a conspiracy in the future. In this, an attempt has been made to give a message to high-profile celebrities including actor Salman Khan.
According to sources, Zeeshan had written a letter to the State Intelligence Department in September stating that there was a threat to his life. There was already a police officer for the security of Zeeshan, who was a Congress MLA. But after his demand, Mumbai Police sent his letter to SID for security audit, after which SID increased the security of Zeeshan.
Zeeshan got Y-Plus security in September
Police said that they are investigating the matter as to why Zeeshan had demanded to increase his security. However, the police is also investigating whether the attackers were prevented from attacking Zeeshan, because Zeeshan had just left his father's office a few minutes before the firing. It is said that in the second week of September, Zeeshan's security was increased from one police guard to Y-Plus security, which includes three armed constables providing round-the-clock security.

Siddiqui was attacked in the presence of a lone policeman, Shyam Sonawane. When Baba Siddiqui was preparing to leave his office, the attackers attacked him. Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai Police has reviewed the security of Salman Khan's close aide Siddiqui after his murder in his farmhouse in Waze village of Panvel. Police say that if Khan or his family members come to this place, security will be increased around this house. At present, the police are looking for clues which suggest that this murder was a contract killing done on the orders of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
