The year was 2023 and the date was May 10. Congress captured power in Karnataka by defeating BJP. The credit for this victory of Congress was being tied to Karnataka Congress State President DK Shivakumar, who not only continuously cornered the BJP government but also demonstrated his strength by uniting the Congress which was divided into different factions in the state for the elections. Not only this, Shivkumar himself also won the elections from Kanakpura assembly seat for the eighth time. Despite this, when the Chief Minister’s face was announced on May 17, DK Shivakumar, also known as DKS in political circles, was disappointed. Despite all the hard work, the Congress high command made Siddaramaiah, who had the experience of running the government, as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Even though DK Shivakumar was handed over the post of Deputy CM, not getting the post of CM continued to trouble him as well as his supporters. However, now after three years, DK Shivkumar is going to get the same post, for which the issue of secret agreement and ‘rights’ was raised for three consecutive years.
