Internet service disruption due to submarine cable maintenance

Bangladesh Submarine Cables Company (BSCPLC) has said that due to the maintenance work on the country’s second submarine cable CMUI 5, internet service may be slow or partially interrupted for a few days. The organization said these things in a notification on Wednesday (April 8).

According to the notification, a maintenance program has been undertaken at SIMUI 5 located at Kuakata. This program will start from 10 pm on April 9 and will continue until 6 am on April 13. It will take 3 days and 8 hours.

According to the notification, the circuits going to Singapore through Simwi 5 cable will be temporarily affected for this maintenance work. As a result customers may experience slow internet or partial service interruption. However, at this time, it has been informed that the internet service will be available through the country’s first submarine cable Simui 4.

According to BSCPLC, during the maintenance work, efforts will be made to complete the work quickly in coordination with the concerned consortium, so that normal services can be restored within the stipulated time.

The company apologized to the customers for this temporary inconvenience.
