A serious case of rape of a woman on the pretext of marriage and pressurizing her for religious conversion has come to light in Firozpur Jhirka city police station area of Nuh district of Haryana. Based on the complaint, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused youth.
According to the police, this case was registered on March 28 in Firozpur Jhirka City under the Haryana Prohibition of Religious Conversion Act 2022 and relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code. The victim complainant, a Punjabi resident woman, has alleged that the accused Zahir’s son Yunus Firozpur Jhirka first befriended her online. After this, he called her to Mewat area on the pretext of marriage, where he forcibly raped her in a hotel.
The victim accused of blackmail and religious conversion
According to police officials, the victim also alleges that the accused blackmailed her by making obscene videos and pressurized her to convert to religion. When she protested, the accused beat her and drove her away from there. In this matter, the police have registered a case and started action.
Police arrested the accused
In this regard, DSP Ajaib Singh said that as soon as the victim’s complaint was received, the police immediately registered a case and started investigation and arrested the accused. Police have identified the accused as Jahir son Yunus, a resident of Firozpur Jhirka area. DSP told in the press conference that based on the statement of the victim, a case has been registered and the accused has been arrested.
Police is investigating the case from every aspect
He said that the allegations made in the case are serious, which are being investigated thoroughly. The accused will be produced in the court as per rules and taken on remand. Police say that the investigation is ongoing and all the facts are being investigated in detail, so that appropriate legal action can be ensured in the case.
