A UK cabinet minister has said Iran has long-range missiles capable of hitting London – a claim Israel has found no evidence to support.

The Israeli Defense Forces, the IDF, claimed on Saturday that Tehran has long-range weapons capable of striking at a distance of 4,000 kilometers.

Following the news, UK Housing Minister Steve Reid told the BBC, “We have no concrete assessment that the Iranians are targeting the UK, or that they could if they wanted to.”

These comments came after Iran attacked a joint military base of the United States and the United Kingdom located in the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean on Friday night.

The archipelago is located about 3,800 km from Iran.

The minister declined to reveal how close the missiles had reached British territory. Reid.

He said he could not divulge the ‘operational details’ or details of the attack.

Overnight on Friday, Iran fired two ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, one of which missed its target and fell midway and the other was intercepted.
