In order to save electricity and energy, it has been decided to turn off lights in shops and markets across the country. State Minister for Power Anindya Islam Amit gave some instructions in this regard in a meeting with Dhaka Shop Owners Association and other business leaders on Sunday.
In the meeting, representatives of business organizations agreed to implement some measures to save electricity. According to the decision, the outside lights of all commercial and business establishments in the country should be switched off. At the same time, the temperature of air conditioning (AC) used in shopping malls and business establishments should be kept at 25 degrees Celsius or more. Apart from this, instructions have been given to switch off the lights of the signboards as soon as the shops or establishments are closed.
Business leaders present at the meeting said that they will work to implement these decisions to support the government in saving electricity and energy.
Representatives of various business organizations participated in the meeting. Among them were representatives of Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, Dhaka Metropolitan Shop Owners Association, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
