Tata Capital, the non-banking financial company (NBFC) of Tata Group, has made a profit of Rs 1,285 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26. There has been an increase of 39% on annual basis. The company had made a profit of Rs 922 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
There has been an increase of 7% in the company’s earnings. Jio Financial has earned Rs 5,786 crore in the October-December quarter. In the same quarter last year, this figure was Rs 5,375 crore.

- Total business crosses ₹2.34 lakh crore: The company has registered a growth of 26% in its Assets Under Management (AUM). Now the company is managing a total fund of ₹2,34,114 crore. The maximum share of 60% in this is from retail loans (like home loan and personal loan).
- Interest income increased: The company’s Net Interest Income (NII) i.e. net income from interest has increased by 26% to ₹ 2,936 crore. Last year at the same time it was much less.
- Loan quality strong: The company’s position in terms of bad loans (NPA) is stable. Gross NPA remains at 1.6% and Net NPA at 0.6%, which means that the loan given to the company is being recovered properly.
Tata Sons holds 93% stake in Tata Capital
Tata Sons is the holding company of Tata Capital. It holds about 93% stake in Tata Capital. The remaining stake is held by other Tata Group companies and trusts.
Tata Capital has received the status of Upper Layer NBFC (Non Banking Financial Company) from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Tata Capital Limited, was officially established on 8 March 1991. Initially its name was ‘Primal Investments and Finance Limited’. The company commenced its core lending activities in September 2007. The company launched its IPO in the year 2025 and its shares were listed on the Indian stock exchange on 13 October 2025.
