What is THAAD?
THAAD is a missile defense system manufactured in America. It is designed to intercept ballistic missiles. It can easily neutralize small, large and short-range missile attacks. THAAD can cover a large area and hit enemy targets at a range of between 150-200 kilometers. Earlier, Israel had also deployed the Patriot system. Each THAAD battery typically consists of six truck-mounted launchers, interceptors, radar and requires about 95 soldiers to operate.
