During the past years, the program has proven its success in creating a concrete shift in the lives of hundreds of families in Upper Egypt, and we look at this new stage to expand the scope of this effect with the support of our partners. The companies that realize their social responsibility and contribute to providing radical and sustainable solutions, are a basic pillar of any real development. The feasibility of the program, and an incentive for us to continue innovation and expand the scope of influence and reach a greater number of families in the Upper Egypt.

It is worth noting that the “Bab Amal” program represents a successful global model in combating extreme poverty, and is based on the Barak international methodology applied in more than 50 countries around the world. The program aims to reach 100,000 families by 2028, and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development has developed a comprehensive expansion strategy based on four main pillars: integration in policies, resource packing, capacity building, follow -up and evaluation.

The Sawiris Foundation and its partners have adopted this approach in Egypt since 2018, in partnership with the Barak Foundation as technical support and Abdel -Latif Jameel Laboratory to combat poverty to measure the impact. 6,458 highly poverty families have already been targeted by Assiut, Sohag and Minya.

Currently, about 2,800 new families are targeted in the current stage of 2025 in both Assiut and Sohag. This number is expected to double by 2026, in cooperation with the “Ataa Without Borders” association in Assiut, the Egyptian Society for Human Development in Sohag and “Sunrise Egypt” in Minya,
