Agrani Bank PLC has decided to close their agent banking services indefinitely from Saturday (June 23). The bank authorities said this in an emergency notice published on Friday (June 23) to the National Daily.
According to the notice, all the banking services will be closed from all agents points in the country until the further instructions are given as per the decision of the bank authorities. However, even if agent banking services are temporarily closed, customers will be able to continue normal banking transactions from any branch of Agrani Bank.
Although no reason behind the closure of agent banking services, the bank said it was being closed for inevitable reasons. Bank authorities have also expressed their sadness for the temporary inconvenience to the customers in this decision.
According to the Agrani Bank website, the company currently has 5 agents banking points in different districts of the country. Various services are usually provided from these points, including cash deposits and lifting, opening accounts, receiving remittances, paying utility bills.
It is reported that these services should be accepted only through branch-based banking channels as agent banking activities are temporarily closed.
