Stop supplies of LNG in the sea of hostile weather, the suspicion of reduced gas pressure

Acute gas crisis is underway in different areas of the country. Meanwhile, Petrobangla has given new news. Due to the hostile weather in the sea, LNG cannot be supplied from the terminal located in Maheshkhali in Cox's Bazar. It may reduce gas pressure in the areas of Titas including Chittagong, Dhaka, Narayanganj.

Petrobangla Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) Tariqul Islam Khan said this through a press release on Wednesday (June 5th).

According to the notice, the LNG cargo is unable to anchor LNG cargo from the LNG terminal in the deep sea of Maheshkhali due to inclement weather. Due to this, the supply of LNG to the national grid has greatly reduced.

According to the notice, the supply of LNG is undergoing low pressure in the affiliated areas of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited and Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution. The weather will begin to be anchored as soon as the weather is normal.

Petrobangla authorities are regretting the temporary inconvenience of the public.

In the country, the supply of gas to at least four thousand million cubic feet daily is supply of 2,500 million cubic feet. Of this, 2,220 million cubic feet of electricity is supplied to 1,900 cubic feet, and 1 million cubic feet of gas is being supplied to the fertilizer factory. The rest of the gas is being met with the demand of industry, CNG, captive power, home, commercial and tea factories.

If the capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas are supplied at least 2,000 million cubic feet of gas daily, it is possible to keep the situation normal. But there are 3 million cubic feet of supply every day.

Titus sources say the situation was fairly normal when they got 5 million cubic feet of supply daily. But lately their supply has been further reduced. They are in crisis for this low supply.
