3 committees for the appointment and transfer of senior administration officials


The government has set up three committees to advise on the appointment, transfer and discipline of senior officers of public administration, police and foreign ministry. The Cabinet Department has issued a separate notification in this regard on Wednesday (January 8).

These committees will advise on the appointment and transfer of officials of the offices of the three ministries.

Committee on Public Administration

In administration, a six-member 'Committee on Public Administration' has been constituted to advise on appointment, transfer and disciplinary matters of Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Joint Secretaries and above.

Finance advisor and science and technology advisor Dr. has been chaired by the committee. Saleh Uddin Ahmed. Electricity and Energy Advisor Fawzul Kabir Khan, Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Cabinet Secretary and Public Administration Secretary have been made members of the committee. The Ministry of Public Administration will provide secretarial support to this committee. This committee can seek information from the concerned department if necessary.

Law and order affairs committee

A seven-member 'law and order affairs committee' has been formed with Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury as its chairman. Legal advisor Asif Nazrul, local government advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, special assistant to the chief advisor are members of the committee. Khoda Bakhs Chowdhury, Home Secretary and Inspector General of Police. Maritime Transport Advisor M Sakhawat Hossain is the member secretary of the committee.

According to the notification, this committee will advise on recruitment, transfer and discipline of SP, DIG and above posts of district police.

The Ministry of Home Affairs will provide secretarial support to this committee. If necessary, the committee can seek information from the concerned department.

Committee on Foreign Affairs

It was reported in a separate announcement, foreign adviser. Foreign affairs committee has been constituted with Tauhid Hossain as the president. t

Other members of the committee are – Industrial Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Chief Adviser Special Representative on Rohingya Issues and Priority Issues Khalilur Rahman and Foreign Secretary.

Adviser attached to the office of the chief adviser. Mahfuz Alam is the member secretary of the committee. The Foreign Affairs Committee has been formed to advise on the appointment, transfer and discipline of the Director General, other equivalent and above posts of the Ministry of External Affairs.

According to the notification, the Ministry of External Affairs will provide secretarial support to this committee.
