Religious advisor. AFM Khalid Hossain said that about 1000 people were martyred in the July revolution. Many are injured and living a miserable life. Many have accepted paralysis. This revolution cannot be allowed to fail.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the 'Reunion Hashemian-2024' function at the Hashemiya Kamil Madrasa ground in Cox's Bazar on Saturday (December 28). Alumni Association of Hashemiya Kamil Madrasa organized the event.
In the event, the religious advisor said, Muslim society is divided today. What we need most right now is unity. Unity of Muslims, unity of Bangladeshi ethnic groups. Muslims have ruled the world as long as they have been united. The moment we engage in discord, conflict and mutual mudslinging, our energy begins to erode. Our downfall is inevitable. He requested everyone to forget all differences and unite for the welfare of Muslim Ummah.
He said, the whole world is conflict-afflicted today. Muslims are bleeding. Muslims are being killed in Jerusalem, Arakan, Syria and Lebanon. The condition of our country is not very good. Unity is our only strength right now. We have to use this power. We should forget all differences and come closer. In 53 years of independence, if the learned society of this country could have come closer, then a new history could have been written. In the past we have been involved in disagreements time and again. We have to learn from this past to create a future path.
Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said, Baghdad was destroyed due to the disunity of Muslims, Halaku Khan was able to occupy Baghdad. There are still about 200 million Muslims in the world. If Muslims can be united, if the OIC and the Arab League can be strengthened and made effective, the world will move on a new path.
Referring to the plight of those injured in the July Revolution, he said, “If we think that our movement-revolution is over, then we will be wrong.” We still have a lot of work to do. If necessary, we will have to enter the field again. He urged everyone to be vocal for the welfare of the country and nation.
The religious advisor also said that after the government assumed responsibility, one after another sabotage activities were carried out. Various efforts are being made to obstruct the progress of the government. But the government is moving forward facing all the challenges. The advisor highlighted the various steps taken by the Ministry of Religion during his tenure.
