Protest of the deposed leaders and activists of Jobi Chhatra Dal

The deposed leaders and workers of the branch student party protested by lighting a fire in front of the main gate of Jagannath University (JUB). On Saturday (December 28) around 8:00 pm, they circled the campus with a torch procession. Then hundreds of leaders and activists gathered at the main gate of the campus and protested.

The leaders and activists who participated in the protest said that the committee has been given excluding those leaders and activists who ignored their lives in the movement and implemented the party program. Only the direct followers of the Central President-Secretary have been kept in the committee. The rest, though loyal to the party and tested, were excluded.

Atiqur Rahman Tanzil, the protester, said that Jobi has given a discriminatory committee excluding those who are on the frontline to face the fascist forces of the Chhatra Dal and are loyal to the party. Tariq Rahman said that even the last boy in the procession should get an identity. That instruction was not obeyed. We protested against it.

Saiful Islam Sabuj, the former joint general secretary of the branch student body, said that only the followers of the convener and member secretary have been kept in the committee. We are excluded because we are not Central President-Secretary's men. No one from the 9th and 11th batch of the university has been placed in this committee. This is clear discrimination. If necessary, the number of posts in the committee could be increased.

Former Joint General Secretary of Shakha Chhatra Dal Millat Patwari, Zafar Mahmud, Imran Mollah, Hannan Mahmud, Mohabbat Hossain Babu, Shahadat Hossain, Nibir Munsi, Raju Ahmed, Ahsan Mallik, Tushar Pal, Ahmed Kausar Akash and others were present in the protest.

Incidentally, in order to declare a new committee within 45 days on December 24, the central student body announced a 27-member committee by appointing Mehdi Hasan Himel, a student of the 2008-09 session of the political science department of the university, as the convener and Shamsul Arefin, a student of the 2009-10 session of the Bengali department, as the member secretary.
