Why didn't the BCB president come to see the final?

127 runs, 15 wickets, 4.56 run-rate—these statistics clearly show how a match can be twisted. This match is the final of the T20 edition of the National Cricket League (NCL). However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed did not come to Sylhet to see such a final.

Rangpur-Dhaka metropolis met today in the final of the first season of the National Cricket League (NCL). Farooq was supposed to come to watch the title decider. Minhajul Abedin Nannu explained why he (Farooq) could not come. At the end of the final, BCB's Chief Coordinator of Program told the media, 'We were supposed to come. As far as I know he could not watch the match due to last minute flight cancellation or delay. for this.'

As fan-favorites had hoped for a sensational finale, there was not even a drop to be seen. There were 11 fours and 1 six in the title deciding match. Regarding why the final match was like this, Nannu told reporters, '(NCL T-20) 100 cannot be given. 90 out of 100 should be given. Because the final match was quite challenging due to the standard of wickets. There are four matches in two places every day. So this wicket was very challenging. All in all though, I'd say the wicket behaved considerably better than I thought it would be challenging. Although the final match was low scoring.

The first season of the NCL with domestic cricketers saw a balanced batting-bowling battle. In the entire tournament, the runs have come up at an economy of 7.75. There were 723 fours and 418 sixes. Youngsters like Jisan Alam, Azizul Hakeem Tamim have scored runs alongside Naeem Sheikh, Nurul Hasan Sohan. Nannu said that such a tournament will be very useful for the development of T20 cricket in Bangladesh. BCB Chief Coordinator of Programs said,

'All in all I would say, there is a lot of feedback. Many players have been fielded by the selection panel and if we can continue this tournament in the future, Insha Allah, we will be able to fill the gap in the T20 edition.'
