New Delhi. R Ashwin recently announced his retirement after the third test against Australia. After his retirement, almost all the cricketers said something for him. Meanwhile, former cricketer Abhinav Mukund also remembered his old days. Mukund said that when we were in our young days, Ashwin used to come to the dressing room with a paper and pen and plan the IPL auction.
Former India cricketer Abhinav Mukund wrote in a column for Cricinfo, “During the long bus journeys while traveling for the Ranji Trophy, he always sat on the back bench. He used to meet all the other players and play a funny game called Mafia. I also remember during the early years of club cricket.”
Mukund further wrote, “When we used to sit with him in the dressing room, he would come with a pen and a paper and we would make these fake auction picks and drafts for every IPL team and plan how the teams would be balanced. . “He always surprises you whenever you talk to him.”
Abhinav further wrote, “I met him after the Test against Bangladesh. In which he scored his fastest Test century and his family was also watching from the stands. I ordered a cup of coffee and his wife ordered coconut water for her. I jokingly asked him, “Do you need electrolytes, old man?”
