Bangladesh summoned the ambassador of India and gave a letter of protest

India's Ambassador Prannoy Verma has been summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs and handed over a letter of protest against the attack on the Bangladesh mission in Tripura. Acting Foreign Secretary Riaz Hamidullah summoned the ambassador on Tuesday (December 3) at 4 pm.

It is said that the protest letter was handed over to the ambassador by Bangladesh during the meeting for about half an hour.

A large group of protestors of the Agartala Hindu Conflict Society staged a violent protest and attack on the premises of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala on Monday (December 2) afternoon. Immediately after this, yesterday, in a notification of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the details received conclusively prove that the pre-planned attack on the premises of the protesters by breaking down the main gate of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission was given. In the process, in the presence of members of the local law enforcement agencies, they vandalized the national flag pole, desecrated the national flag of Bangladesh and also damaged property inside the Assistant High Commission. Unfortunately, the local policemen in charge of guarding the premises were found to be inactive in controlling the situation from the start.

After the meeting, the Indian ambassador said that we have extensive relations, multifaceted relations. We cannot sit with one issue or agenda.

We are willing to engage with the Interim Government of Bangladesh and work with the Government of Bangladesh to fulfill our common aspirations for peace, security and development, he said.
