About 220 million dollars came into the country during the entire month of November. In local currency (as 120 rupees per dollar) which is about 26 thousand 4 billion rupees.
The updated information released by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (December 1) says that in November, expatriate Bangladeshis living in different countries sent 219 crore 95 lakh 10 thousand dollars. More than 7 million 33 million dollars have come in this month. In the last four months, remittances have been coming in at over $2 billion.
During the discussion period, 82 crore 42 lakh 10 thousand dollars came through state-owned banks. Between the two specialized banks, USD 145.8 million came through Krishi Bank. At this time, 122 crore 31 lakh 50 thousand dollars came through private banks. Besides, 62 lakh 80 thousand dollars came through foreign banks.
Earlier, in the first month of the current financial year, July, 191 million USD remittances came to the country. The next month came in August 222 million 41 million dollars, in September 240 million 48 million dollars, in October 240 million dollars and lastly in the month of November about 220 million dollars came.
In addition, remittances came in last June 254 million 16 million US dollars. Before that, 225 million 38 million dollars came in May. In addition, 204 crores 42 lakhs in April, 199 crores 70 lakhs in March, 216 crores 45 lakhs in February and 211 crores 31 lakhs in January were sent by expatriate Bangladeshis living in different countries.
Earlier in the history of the country, the highest remittance of 2.6 billion dollars in a month came in July 2020. The highest annual remittance comes in FY 2020-21. In that financial year, the total remittance came to 24.78 billion or 2 thousand 478 million dollars.
