Unveiling of BPL mascot


The curtain of the 11th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is going to rise on December 30. Before that, the mascot of the tournament was unveiled in a grand ceremony at a five-star hotel in the capital on Sunday.

There will be something different in the eleventh edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, it was thought earlier. Accordingly, the mascot was added to the BPL for the first time. The 'Wings 36' mascot – a 'white dove' with outstretched wings, symbolizing peace and a total of 36 colored feathers, 18 on each side, represents the unforgettable memory of the student-mass movement till 36th July 2024, which every dreamer, energetic, irrepressible youth. Gives inspiration to build a new Bangladesh.

Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, announced the 'Youth Festival 2025' at a five-star hotel in the capital with the participation of a number of star athletes of Bangladesh sports. BPL mascot was unveiled in his presence.

Apart from him, BCB President Farooq Ahmed, newly elected BAFUF President Tabith Awal, former national captain Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and current captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto were also present in the event. Apart from this, the former captain of the women's team Salma Khatun, Jahanara Alam and the current captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti.

A minute's silence was observed in honor of the martyrs of the student movement before the start of the program. Besides, a documentary film during the movement was also shown.

Being directly involved in making this event successful, the chief advisor of the interim government, Dr. Md. Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan thanked Yunus, 'Youth festival is going to be organized with the slogan 'Eso Desh Badlai, Prithibha Badlai' in front of the slogan 'Eso Desh Badlai, Prithibha Badlai' for converting the grief of the July mass coup. We always want to remember the martyrs of mass uprising in happiness, sorrow, joy and pain and work to fulfill their desire of sacrifice. Sports unite us. Cricket in particular unites us. No matter how many differences there are in different areas, we are united in the game. One of the objectives of this youth festival is to advance the country's reconstruction and state reform while maintaining national unity. The youth festival is going to be held all over the country with various events including sports.

This year's BPL is going to be more interesting for the cricket lovers of the country. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already finalized the BPL schedule and confirmed three venues in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. Digital ticketing, free water for spectators in the gallery, advanced technology and the presence of experienced local and foreign umpires have been assured. BCB president Farooq Ahmed has already said that this year's BPL is planned to bring more success in the international arena.

The opening ceremony will be held at Mirpur Sher Bangla Stadium on December 23, but the opening ceremony will also be held in Chittagong and Sylhet on December 25 and 27 respectively. Besides, 8 football matches for boys and 8 football matches for girls will be organized every Friday and Saturday during BPL. Besides, 'U-15 National Cup' will be organized. Debate Competition, Quiz Competition, Inter-School and College Competition, Essay Competition, Skill Competition and Drawing Competition on July-36 are planned for talent search.

7 teams will participate in this BPL event: Dhaka Capitals, Chittagong Kings, Durbar Rajshahi, Fortune Barisal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Strikers.
