Mustafa Mohsin Montu, chairman of Ganoforum, said, 'Students who once united and protested against dictatorship, today they are seen engaging in conflict at various places including Suhrawardy and Kabi Nazrul College. This is sad and unacceptable. We want national unity among the students and believe that their united movement will ensure the development of the nation in the future.'
He said these things in a press conference organized by Gano Forum at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Thursday (November 28).
Mustafa Mohsin Montu said, 'Anarchy is seen in various sectors of the society. Instability is created due to unclear decisions especially on the garment sector and the autorickshaw issue. In these cases, proper survey and advice should be taken before taking a decision, so that the situation does not deteriorate further.'
He warned about the agitation and said, 'Many are agitating to get their demands. However, everyone should take care that this movement does not turn into violence.'
Mustafa Mohsin Montu expressed deep grief over the brutal killing of Advocate Saiful Islam in Chittagong. He demanded that the killers be quickly arrested and brought to justice.
Regarding India, he said, 'India is our neighboring country. We want friendship with them, not mastery.'
Regarding the arrest of ISKCON leader Chinmoy Prabhu, he said, 'Chinmoy Prabhu is an expelled member of ISKCON. There must be a motive behind his actions. This matter needs to be looked into deeply.'
Regarding the conference of the public forum, he said, 'Our conference will be held on November 30. The founding president Dr. Kamal Hossain will preside. There is no division between us anymore, we are working together.'
Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Co-Chairman of Gano Forum said, 'Even after 100 days of the government, no clear action is seen. Due to the slowness of the government, the unrest is increasing among the people.'
Also present at the press conference were Co-Chairman of Gano Forum SM Altaf Hossain, Coordinating Committee Member Jaglul Haider and Member Secretary Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman and others.
