Arab Finance: Schneider Electric launched three new products in the field of energy systems, during the Innovation Day for Future Energy Systems event, organized by Schneider Electric for the first time in Egypt and a number of Schneider Electric customers from various sectors and the Schneider Electric team led by Sebastian Reyes, CEO of Schneider Electric for the Northern Region. East Africa and the Arab Levant, and Hassan Al-Ardi – Vice President of Schneider Electric Egypt, Northeast Africa and the Arab Levant for the energy sector.
The new products, MCSeT with EvoPacT, RM AirSeT, and SM AirSeT, come to enhance the company’s efforts in supporting digital transformation and efficiency in various sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, and consumption-intensive industries such as the food and consumer industries, real estate development, and the energy and chemicals sector.
The event witnessed the Innovation Day for Future Energy Systems, and extensive discussion sessions, to exchange visions and experiences among the attendees, and the Schneider Electric team showcased its latest product with EvoPact MCSeT, which is a medium voltage panel with highly efficient digital characteristics for electricity distribution linked to the Internet of Things (IoT), and is characterized by a long lifespan. Up to 30 years. It also provides continuous monitoring and early alerts, allowing for proactive maintenance and predictive analysis, and relies on advanced vacuum breaker technology with an operating capacity of up to 30,000 operating cycles.
Thanks to its sturdy design and digital circuit breaker, MCSeT with EvoPacT reduces the risk of sudden power outages, which contributes to improving performance and enhancing reliability. It is considered one of Schneider Electric’s innovative solutions to address basic challenges in the energy sector, such as reducing maintenance costs and reducing carbon emissions to achieve sustainability goals. Egypt is one of the first countries in the world to launch MCSeT with EvoPacT, as it is assembled at the Schneider Electric factory in Badr City, making it the company’s first factory to assemble and launch it for all markets globally. It has proven its success by winning the Cairo Metro Line 4 project, which reflects the importance of this pivotal market for Schneider Electric not only at the regional level, but also at the global level.
The discussions on the Innovation Day for Future Energy Systems touched on the new generation of RM AirSeT and SM AirSeT products that are free of environmentally harmful SF6 gas, as Schneider Electric is the first company to launch this type of product in Egypt, as the company announced a few years ago its commitment to developing solutions and products free of this. mystification.
The new products are characterized by high operational efficiency thanks to air vacuum breaker technology and a long lifespan of up to 40 years, which makes them more sustainable than traditional solutions. Schneider Electric has replaced SF6 gas with compressed fresh air in its products that are characterized by sustainable design, as it consists of 92% of components. It is recyclable, which significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, each kilogram of which is equivalent to 24.3 tons of carbon emissions, which has led the European Union to consider banning its use by the year 2030, which reflects Schneider Electric’s commitment to providing alternatives to products that use SF6 gas as sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions that help various operational sectors reduce their carbon footprint and achieve sustainability goals.
Commenting on the launch of the new products, Sebastian Reyes, CEO of Schneider Electric for North East Africa and the Levant, said: “Innovation is the main driver for achieving sustainability, which we place at the heart of our goals and corporate culture through the launch of innovative products such as MCSeT with EvoPacT, RM AirSeT and SM AirSeT in the promising Egyptian market, we confirm our commitment to supporting Egypt in its journey towards digital transformation and sustainable energy.” He added, “We work side by side with our partners to provide customized solutions that contribute to enhancing the ability of suppliers and customers to achieve their goals and reduce carbon emissions while ensuring the highest levels of operational efficiency and resource management as part of the six long-term commitments that Schneider Electric has set to achieve sustainability.”
Today, companies face increasing challenges in achieving sustainability, as global standards require them to reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental performance. Schneider Electric's innovative solutions, based on the EcoStruxure digital platform, help companies improve the efficiency of their operations and make informed decisions to achieve their sustainability goals. Through these solutions and products, companies can benefit from advanced analytics and predictive maintenance to reduce energy waste and enhance the efficiency of their operations. Schneider Electric seeks to accelerate the pace of transformation towards a more sustainable and inclusive society, to build a world more dependent on electricity, as it provides smart solutions that help companies achieve their climate goals and contribute to building a sustainable future for all.
For his part, Hassan Al-Ardi, Vice President of Schneider Electric Egypt, Northeast Africa and the Arab Levant for the energy sector, said: “Sustainability is the core of Schneider Electric’s work, and the main driver for providing innovative solutions and technologies specifically designed to develop energy systems in various sectors, especially consumption-intensive industries, to achieve Positive value for companies and the environment.” He added, “The launch of three innovative products for the first time in the Egyptian market confirms Schneider Electric's leadership in the energy sector, and its continued commitment to providing solutions that contribute to enhancing efficiency, digital transformation and achieving sustainability, which is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.”
