Eknath Shinde CM Maharashtra Govt Urges Center to Increase Non Creamy Layer Limit To Rs 15 Lakh


Maharashtra Cabinet Decisions: The Maharashtra Cabinet on Thursday (October 10) decided that it will request the Central government to increase the income limit for the 'non-creamy layer' from the current Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15 lakh per annum. This decision has come before the proposed assembly elections in the state next month. To avail the benefits of reservation in Other Backward Class (OBC) category, non-creamy layer certificate is required.

This certificate certifies that the family income of the said person is less than the prescribed limit. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde According to a statement issued by the office of SC, a draft ordinance to give constitutional status to the Maharashtra State Scheduled Caste Commission was also approved in the cabinet meeting.

Ordinance will be introduced in the next session

According to the statement, this ordinance will be introduced in the next session of the Legislature. It said that 27 posts have been sanctioned for the Maharashtra State Scheduled Caste Commission. According to the statement, in the meeting, additional funds of Rs 709.27 crore were approved for the Balasaheb Thackeray Turmeric Research Center located in Hingoli district.

Toilet facilities will be available in government hospitals

It said that in the meeting, the proposal of non-profit organization Sulabh International to build toilets and rest rooms in all 57 government hospitals of the state was also approved. According to the statement, it was decided in the cabinet meeting that government land in Akse and Malwani located in Mumbai's Borivali suburb will be given for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project and housing will be provided to ineligible slum dwellers in these areas spread over 140 acres.

The Cabinet approved the construction of Jalna-Nanded Expressway, which will be connected to the Mumbai-Nagpur Samriddhi Corridor. It said that in the cabinet meeting, irrigation projects were approved for Savner, Kankavli, Rajapur, Ambernath, Jihe Kathapur and Latur. According to the statement, the cabinet decided that the Anganwadi centers running in the state will be allowed to start day-care centres. Permission will be given.

Apart from this, African Safari will be started at Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoo in Nagpur. The statement said that the honorarium of madrassa teachers holding D.Ed degree will be increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 16,000 per month, while the salary of teachers with BA, B.Ed, BSc degrees will be increased from Rs 8,000 to Rs 18,000 per month.
